MY HISTORY
I began painting houses with my brother, Clay, here in Fort Collins, in 2000 when I was 17 years old. Clay was hired by a college internship program to manage and run a painting business. That year, with myself as Crew Leader, we produced the number two business in the nation out of over two thousand managers. In 2002, Clay and I moved to Southern Oregon and started Brotherhood Painting. For eleven years, Clay and I, doing all the work ourselves, maintained an exceptional level of customer satisfaction and built quite a reputation for excellence.
We had virtually perfect customer satisfaction as you will see in our hundreds of reference letters and almost all 5 star reviews on Google, Yelp, and Angi's List.
In the spring of 2014 we decided to expand our business and to run six employees, with myself as Production Manager. With our crews we continued to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Yet, being more aware of the finer details of a high quality paint job I was beginning the realization that we just could not expect to offer the level of quality that we had once had with hired employees.
As a Production Manager, I found that I was less fulfilled than delivering fine craftsmanship with my own hands. As Brotherhood Painting grew, the company’s direction shifted to larger projects such as townhouses, apartment complexes and retirement homes. We had gotten to the point of running anywhere from 16-20 constantly revolving painter's and things had dramatically changed from where we were before.
Being quite the perfectionist myself and my deep care for our customers caused me a lot of grief and frustration knowing that our quality was so far from what it had been before. Eventually there was a realization that it was just absolutely impossible to reach the standards of what we had done before while operating a business of that size. Between the almost constant wild fire smoke in the summer, a fire ripping through our town destroying 2800 structures, and a huge increase in crime, me and my family decided to move back to Colorado.
This presented me the opportunity to start my own painting business where I could focus on what I love. Delivering exceptional quality and customer service with my own hands and continuously refining my craft.
